Interesting place to add to your Matsumoto itinerary. You could spend more or less an hour here before heading to Matsumoto Castle. You can see interesting clocks and most have English descriptions on them. I think all of the time pieces are still working. So you'll definitely learn something to your visit here
Small but cute museum with some truly rare and interesting timepieces and clocks.
Solid information on the development of clocks in Japan in both English and Japanese.
Well worth the 30-60 minutes it takes to go through everything. Perfect if you have an extra hour to waste in Matsumoto.
Tio: I recommend going at the top of the hour so you can hear all the different clocks ring which lasts about 10 minutes or so.
We went there on a rainy day. It’s small but worth the fees. Worth a visit for those interested in clocks and watches. Almost all the exhibits are working and there are some truly interesting pieces with gramophone live session.
Visit on the hour to enjoy the symphony of clock bells chiming. A delightful and compact little museum.
Didn't enter the museum. Nice looking big clock on top of the building. Worth to take a look.
This is a small museum dedicated to clocks. Entry for adults only costs ¥320 and it's well worth the cost. Try to be in the museum around the top of the hour and you'll all of the clocks chiming. There is also a phonograph room where at set times the museum staff will play music. This is a quirky museum, easily seen in an hour. Wheelchair friendly.
Fun timepiece museum. Goldfish timepiece was my favorite. Also has a lovely gift shop using local artisans.
Small but appropriately priced museum. It is worth a visit for those interested in clocks and watches. Most exhibits are working and there are some truly interesting pieces as well.
Sweet little museum in Matsumoto. Make sure you get inside 10-15 minutes before round hour, because most clocks here ring! Some of the special ones do really weird things, so make sure to look around and go around between them when they ring.
Great for clock lovers. Very good collection
